Need help.
Just took my left rear tail light out and I see 3 wires (black/brown/yellow)
Can someone explain what each one of them are used for.
I have an led strip it has 2 wires (one is red and the other is black/red).
Can someone explain to me which wire from the led strip goes to which wire on the tail light.
Any help would be appreciated since I do not have electrical experience.
It's a 2004 corvette
Where are you placing the LED strip and what is it for? Seems to me that with two wires you have are a power and ground on the strip. Touch the wires to a 12VDC supply ( battery) and see what it does...
I'm using the led's on the bottom of the rear fascia (where it has like 2 vents) for additional lighting.
The led instructions say to attach the led positive/negative wires to 12v power

My assumption would be that the red wire is positive, so it would go to the brown wire, while the negative is the red with black tracer, so it would go to the black (or directly to one of the car's grounding points).
So you probably want the LED's to turn on with the headlights and taillights then? If you were to attach the red wire to the brown and the red/black wire to the black at the taillight connection you would have the LED's illuminate when the headlights and taillights are turned on.
Do you have a volt meter? you can verify this before doing any wire alterations. See if you have 12VDC at the brown and black wires when the lights are turned on and 0 (zero) volts when they're off. Then you'll know how to wire the strip.
