Finally and sadly hit with the dreaded sticky air bag yesterday. Solution : covered the sticky areas with creamy peanut butter and let sit for about 10 minutes, wiped it all of with a micro fiber towel, then damp rag with dawn soap. Result problem solved. Used a soft tooth brush to get PB from embossed areas. Sticky air bag 0/PB 1. Problem solved.
I've never used armour all on my car only a damp rag. I've owned this car since new. PB worked for me try or don't. Ruin your your shale wheel with goof off or goo gone. I really don't care. Trying to pass on a tip, so keep your smart a$$ remarks for some else.

Yea, owned it since new eh. Posting in C5 with a C6 in your avatar, and some ridiculous thing about peanut butter fixing a sticjy air bag. Riiggghhtt. I bet that smells wonderful, all that peanut oil embedded in the porus plastic. About as bright as using armor all...

So it allowed you to remove the stickiness without damaging the color of your AE air bag? That's great because, as you mentioned, other solvents remove everything leaving just the black rubber exposed, and then it has to be dyed/painted afterwards.
Yes owned since new. I own both a C5 and a C6 thank you very much. And yes it is the peanut oil that removes the stickiness. Look it up Google is your best friend. If your's is shale repaint it if you like no skin off my nose.

@tebo : Good to know but I was asking you whether the AE color is removed when using peanut butter or not. Just wanted to double-check if by doing it this way the repainting could be avoided. Thanks!
Stop using armor all and it won't disintegrate your interior parts.
I have heard this before, but I must be a lucky guy. I've used armor all for the last 30 years and I have never had an issue. I used it for 16 years on my grand prix and when I sold it the interior looked new....My c5 is now at 20 years and it looks like new. The grand prix was subject to daily driving and the vette no so much, but both have zero issues. Well unless you do not like the glossy look then I guess its not for you...
