Good morning from Deerfield Beach , Florida. I'm looking to see if anyone has tried the new Sumitomo HTR Z5 on their Corvette (any generation). I have the HTR ZIII on my C5 and they have been "ok" as my daily driver. The tread is still good but they are close to the 8 year mark so I was looking to find a low cost alternative. Unfortunate to say the car spends a great deal of time in the garage looking pretty so I don't want to be dropping $$$ into the rubber. Thanks.
Thanks...will take a look. Like a lot of us my "Baby" doesn't go out in the rain intentionally but the summer thunderstorms in south Florida come up fast and hard so I do need to keep an eye on the wet handling aspect of the tire.

I was almost going to buy a set until I got new rims which they don't make for my size.
Those tires dropped least a month ago and seem very well constructed and good for the rain which is what I look for.
Those Firestones are very good and reasonably priced. The continental DW sport are what I have on my Artic white 99 and they are great summer tire, The cost is a little more than the Firestone's but not terrible.
I have not tried those tires but when it was time to switch I dropped a set Hankooks on my Z for about $250/tire average and they are very nice tires for the $$$. Great shot of Fox News in the background by the way!!
@02BlownZ06...that was completely unintentional. I noticed that after I posted and thought "Oh no, someone is going to go off on me regardless." But it was about the Corvette (as it should be) and nothing else.
Ok, thanks for the input. I did get a set of OEM sized tires in the Sumitomo HTR Z5 for $510 (free shipping, no sales tax and $50 Visa rebate). I'll post some basic opinions on a new thread in a few weeks. I figure for the price I can't go wrong and in south Florida the roads are straight and smooth so I'd have to haul my butt to at least Georgia or the Carolina's to get some real world handling.

I didn’t see your new thread about how these worked out for you. Can you provide an update please? I am considering these tires for my 2019 C7 but unsure how they will perform during winter season. It can be cold and wet in Texas sometimes.
