I was curious what oil you roadcourse guys are using on the track?Ive been using Amsoil 5w-30 for street driving and Autox, but im not sure if it can hold up to roadcourse work.Im in a stock C5Z with Dewitts Pro Series radiator, and i run Hoosier R7’s.More cooling mods coming soon as well.Thanx for any input!

On stock cooling I was seeing high oil temps at the track. 295F+. So I started using Amsoil 10W-40. Now that I have a Ron Davis radiator with EOC the temps have come down dramatically so I am switching back to 30W oil. The 40W oil increases oil pressure by about 10 psi. Which concerns me a bit.

If you're maintaining pressure at that temperature, increasing weight is probably not necessary. Going to a different spec oil for a different additive package may be useful. Frankly I'd worry more about oil cooling than oil weight given your generally acceptable pressures.
