Does anyone have an aftermarket satellite radio tuner in their vehicle and where did you place it so it does not look like crap. SiriusXM sent me the XM Receiver in the mail. Where did you put the satellite antenna as the body is fiberglass and the magnet will not stick to the body? I hate not having my XM radio stations and I’m not up for replacing my entire head unit just yet.

I have a built-in replacement radio with Sirius XM and my antenna is inside the trunk. Apparently the body doesn't affect the signal.

can’t help much with that.
I have a aftermarket double din touch screen with built in Sirius XM. With so many different styles of radios and mounts it’s hard telling where I would mount one, consider viewing and changing channels accessibility. Choice is yours.

Exactly. I hate cluttering my interior with stuff like antennas and extra wires. I am placing mine under the hood, in the small cowl area behind the battery den. Saw an old thread here somewhere and a couple guys did that.

I put the antenna like previous poster on the dash with the wire snaking to the side. The receiver is in the center storage box, there's a plug in socket that I didn't need & the wires go through the console and get connected. That way is much better for accessing the channels.

XM Antenna
Mounted below rear window (FRC) with thin double-sided tape. Wiring into trunk (no water leaks). Hardly noticeable - no loss of reception.

I removed the defroster vent, and then cut 1/8" diameter steel rod to fit the grooves common to the 'twilight' receptacle -- empty on my ride. I epoxied the rods into the grooves with JB Weld, which as a nice deep gray doesn't stand out horribly. Attached the antenna with it's magnetic base to the steel rods, ran the cable inside and under -- had to use the Dremel to enlarge the opening slightly to fit the connector through. Receiver is behind my Kenwood double din. Reception seems as good as my factory Subaru, look is factory. No photo at the moment, and it's darkening quickly outside, but will get a photo tomorrow.

When I bought my car it had a unit installed where the ashtray/lighter was and the antenna in the right side corner of the dash > passengers side. When I went in there to change out the radio and fix the temperature read out on the AC unit, I got rid of it and put the lighter and ashtray and doors back in place.

reciever is built into my head unit. For the antenna, I placed it on the rear frame behind the tail light as mentioned earlier. I actually found the signal to be a little wak down there, so I made a simple support bracket that attaches to the rear frame and holds the antenna up against the underside of the rear deck (just above the tail light). Reception is pretty good there.
