So I searched the forum and googled but didn't find what I was looking for. I need some input and help. The clutch and brake pedal surface in my car have become a little worn over the years. They are a little slick and very slick when wet. My goal was to bolt on some aftermarket 'rough' aluminum racing style covers (brake & clutch only). What I found was mostly a set of 4 that includes the gas pedal and the dead pedal. The big kicker is the price of $125 to $175 bucks for Corvette applications. It sucks when you can see pedals advertised for Nissan 350Z's, BMW's and Audi's for $50. So, has anyone had luck retro fitting one of these other vehicle fitments to a C5? What about using a universal fit product and cutting it or 'tweaking' it to fit the C5... Any ideas?
Do you absolutely need new pedals, or would you be happy just having grip on the stock ones again? A lot of racers for a long time have used skateboard grip tape, although I'm not sure how well you'd get it to stick on the stock pedals' finish
Slipperiness is the downside of the "style" factor that causes the manufacturers to go for metal pedal surfaces. Much rather have good old fashioned rubber pads on the pedals, personally.
After a couple close calls with sliding off the stock pedals, I bit the bullet and bought covers from Ligenfelter, aluminum billet high quality. You can't drive bare foot, but the best thing no more mistakes. Yes, they are expensive, but what would a simple rear ender cost you. I would never drive a C5 without them especially a stick.

Like you (and like all of us), the "Corvette tax" annoys me. I searched the universal pedal cover kits on eBay and other "ricer" sites, but everything was either cheap garbage or just didn't seem to be the right size I needed. I bit the bullet and ponied up for the C5-spec billet pedal kit. The manufacturer site had the Corvette pedals the same price as all the other makes/models, so at least I wasn't getting Corvette-gouged. I did find the best price through Southern Car Parts, and managed to score a set while they were offering some holiday discount across their site. The pedals Lingenfelter sells with their logo on them appear to be from the same manufacturer, too. Installation was easy, the pedals fit perfectly, and they feel great when driving. They are well-designed, too. While the pattern is the same on all the pedals, the accelerator and dead pedal are machined a little smoother than the clutch and brake pedals, so you can slide your feet off when necessary. The little accelerator pedal extension for heel-toe work is a nice touch as well. These were definitely worth the price. Buy once and have no regrets!
I may spend a little time with the Dremel tool and do some fine cuts in a cross hatch pattern on the clutch pedal. It can't be any worse than what I have now. If all else fails, I'll drop $150 on something like the Ligenfelter pedals. Stay tuned...
Just read the note from FYRARMS - That looks like the best long term option. Maybe catch the Labor Day Weekend Sale!

I highly recommend that choice! I am telling you, these really are nice products. Well worth the extra coin. I had a '94 Turbo Supra and ran some cheap eBay pedal covers. They were garbage, and I ended up modding the heck out of them just to keep them in place. I ended up tossing them in the trash and bought OEM rubber covers again. These billet pieces from SCP are sooooo much nicer than anything I bought in the past.
How much are a set of Z06 peddles? They are metal...there is no slipping or sliding.
I just checked 'Southern Car Parts' and they had the 4 piece set for $139 (not sure about shipping fees). They have 2 style options, the 'Grid' or 'Block' configuration. Both look great. Looks like they also have an Anodized 'Black' color option...
SRP makes these pedals, and many companies re-brand them for a variety of platforms. https://www.srpracing.com/pd_c5_corvette_97-04.cfm
Depending on configuration it could be cheaper to get them direct from SRP than other vendors. Looks like they have free USPS Priority shipping, too.
Depending on options, looks like PFYC has them cheapest with starting @ $100: https://www.pfyc.com/C62019.html
Their shipping is kinda high @ $19 though.
