I just took a closer look a the wreck pictures, and the front crossmembers of the frame took a pretty good lick, look at the dent in it.
This, Take a look at the beam that runs across the front just below the hood, that's supposed to be straight across and it's bent pretty good. That is part of the frame. Doesn't mean the car is not salvageable but he is telling you no frame damage and there is clearly damage.

I agree - if this is the car you are really serious about, get it evaluated by a trained mechanic.
It is a lot of money for a branded title car, even with just 49K miles on it. Personally I would probably pass and try and find one with no adverse history to it, unless you can just get a smoking deal on the car.
