Default OE targa weather strip?

So I replaced my targa side weather strip with Metro pieces from Corvette Mods. They had some defects, so they sent me a second set that looked pretty much the same.

I installed them about 18 months ago and now they have separated in both of the spots I considered defects. They also don't fit worth a damn.

So are these pieces of garbage my only option, or can OE ones be found somewhere? Thanks for any info, I would like to get my car sealed up if possible.

I’ve heard the same. Aftermarket weather strips are terrible. Only problem is that the oem weatherstrips for the targa is crazy expensive.

When I replaced the Halo seal the first time it was a Metro part and didn't fit at all. I sucked it up and got the $300 OE seal.

I would pay big money for OE sides. I would have kept my leaky OE seals if I knew these would be this bad.

Recently did my halo oem as well. If you find the part numbers for the targa strips please post them. I just saw they were expensive and stopped my search. Haha.

The OE sides had metal inserts on the ends and stayed in the channel. These pop out of the channel all the time.

Been there done that.

Get OE.s. They are about 250 each, yes, each, Hurts to write the check, but they fit properly, and more importantly, they work.
