Who's watching the C8 reveal tonight live?

The marketing sounded good. A more critical review would be nice.
I like that they kept some of the cargo space and the speed bump feature.
I'm not sure what this will be like for the traditionalist who likes to make modifications or the shade tree mechanic after warranty.
Well see what owners think.

The Vette seems more versatile as a daily driven sports car. They are offering a lot of options.
We haven't seen reviews or many technical specs as of yet but I'll bet the Vette keeps up and for 1/5 the price.

Everything that can be done with the front engine design seems like it has been done.
This car looks like it is built every bit as well as the Lamborghini Huracan and other cars in it's class.

I thought if GM wanted to make a bigger splash ,they would have added All wheel drive to the C8. Gee...I have that on my Outback.
Later.

I am a Tall boy too. I had to cut down my seat in the C5 to fit. Comfort for folks over 5 ft 7 should be a priority. At least it is to me.

I think they summed it up best by explaining they have taken the front engine platform about as far as it can go with the higher horsepower models.
Think about how many HP the 2019 ZR1 has (755) vs the 150 HP the 1953 model had!!!
If Corvette is going to keep pushing the performance edge, they have to go mid engine because Chevrolet is too good at making high horsepower!
To not go mid engine, the Corvette performance would be forever plateaued.

Like all other generations of the Corvette, some like it, some don't. Some like and/or dislike some of the features, for a lot of us some things take a little time to grow on us, but I predict the C8 will fly off the showroom floors.

So far, the C8 is actually my favorite designed Corvette since the C5.
I do feel like they could have smoothed out the body lines more, but they didn't make it as angular as I was fearing.
The only thing I suspect I won't like is the weight. Granted, there's no way it could have a lot of carbon fiber, let alone a carbon chassis with this low price tag, so weight will be up there I'm sure.
I hope there is a manual seat option, non-electric telescoping wheel, normal tires that aren't run flats, minimal sound system, etc. to cut at least some weight out. A normal, non-electrical limited slip could probably help too. I feel like we won't get most of these even though I think it would be awesome.

With only a couple of exceptions, I think the C8 looks great and the performance is certainly there, at least according to GM. I hope it is a huge success - the future of the Corvette is riding on it.
