Default Window valet question

Understanding how temperamental the electronics can be on the c5, can those with the window valet chime in with the results of having one? I am looking at adding one to my 2001 convertible and wanted some real users opinions...

How easy us the configuration and setup?
How exactly is it controlled or operate?

Mine does exactly what it's supposed to do, no issues. Easy to configure using their online instructions. Just plug in and set it up. It stays plugged in to the OBD port full time. Just make sure if you buy it used, which I'd recommend, that they provide you with the PIN. I usually see them go for about $60-80 used, so a pretty good savings over new

The added functions provided by the Window Valet SHOULD have been OEM.

Windows, RAP etc are in the computer on our C5's but not activated.

A great mod, especially for those with a vert

Definitely a nice addition whether you have a vert or not. I have a Z06 and love the fact I can roll the windows down before climbing into the car that has been sitting in the sun . Also nice to be able to roll windows up after getting out or if parked in driveway and it starts to rain.

Roll windows down = press unlock on fob 3x
Roll windows up= press lock on fob 3x

There are other things you can do with the unit such as find out top speed driven by doing some button pushing in the car but I'd have to look them up.

No issues with the valet and affecting other functions of the electronics in the car. Have had the unit for 6 or so years.

I put one on my 2001 Coupe. It was easy to set up and as said above the cars should have come with these features from the factory.

Not heard of any problems with the window valet. Those that have one seem to like it a lot.

A great add on to my Vert. I was surprised that it did not loose its settings when I had to unplug it for the MD environmental testing.

Had mine for about 4 yrs and not one hiccup. Three presses of the fob and the door unlocks, the windows roll down, the seat retracts for access and the interior lights come on. You can also leave the radio on when getting out or turn it off with it. I agree that this should have been standard equip when new. Worth the cost.

I like the feature where you can display on your speedo the fastest you have driven. Great for when you want to brag and people don't believe you, especially if you've exceeded 160. The other reason might be if you've let someone else drive your car and you want to check up on how fast they say they've gone driving your wheels. Another great feature.

first and and best mod done to my car except the home link visor. Highly recommended, especially with a vert. I can drop the windows from my office a few minutes before I leave to cool the car down.
