Picked up a 98 six speed and after driving it for a month now it really doesn't seem any faster than my 92 six speed. 72k miles on the 98 and 93k miles on the 92, both are stock. No codes and could probably use new wires and plugs but just kinda disappointed. Thoughts?
(My opinion) In completely stock form, the C5 (LS1) platform is a dog. But the motor responds well to some simple bolt on mods. A set of long tube headers, an intake kit, and a tune will be the best bang for your buck. You’d net somewhere from 25-45 rwhp depending on the specific setup.

It may not SEEM faster, but if both are stock, I guarantee you the C5 is considerably faster than your C4...
The stock 3.42 gearing is what I believe kills it. I wasn't impressed from day one. It's very "long legged". 4.10 gears really woke the car up for me and almost everyone I've seen that actually HAS them has said this is the way it should have come from the factory.
