Default Wetter water

What do you guys think of this stuff? It sounds good but I'm leary of putting anything in my car other than what the manufacturer says to use. Scott

Yeah, keep everything OEM. Flush, clean out any debris from the radiator and the car will run at factory levels. I never understood the guys that "want their cars to run cooler" as the ECM will compensate for the temperature variance and run either rich/lean.

If you are a driver, best to leave things alone.

I don't know about using that product with C5's. I did use it in the past in a supercharged street car and it seemed to work as advertised.

I used it with some success in a marine application, not in my C5.

If you're having coolant issues, just drain/flush then refill.

Go ahead and change your hoses and check the coolant tank for cracks.

Regardless this is the best way to get results.

You are missing the purpose of WaterWetter. Its purpose is to lubricate the water pump while taking the place of coolant for auto racing. Most racing organizations prohibit coolant in cars due to how slippery it is when spilled on the track. As a byproduct of using strictly water and the WaterWetter, coolant temps do go down. You might notice a small reduction in coolant temps in your street car if you did a larger percent water to coolant ratio. But then you might not get as much lubrication as the OEM water pump needs.

Hope this helps.

I just changed out my coolant and came across this stuff. If it helps my car I'll use it but no I don't race and my car runs about 208 degrees.

I used to run it in my CR 500 and it did OK better than not running it for keeping it cool but the best stuff I have found was the Evans coolant but it is pricey......

Used it in my C5Z. Water temps went down about 5-7 degrees. Used it in my C4 and water temps dropped 10-12 degrees.

Water Wetter worked in my Pantera. It ran cooler and lubricated the water pump. I did not use anti-freeze in the Pantera as straight water cools better than an anti-freeze mix. If your C5 cooling system is working as it should you would not need Water Wetter. If your car runs hotter than you like then correct the problem in your cooling system. Mine runs at 194 on the freeway.

You can try it, if you want to see if it makes a difference in your coolant temps, but it would be very minor. It would be like using a "pour in the gas tank additive." It might help very little, and then again, it might not help at all. I have raced in SCCA for years and have used the product there and it helps, but now I have a C5 ZO6 that receives the same flogging as my race car and I use the 50/50 solution the factory recommends with distilled water and no WaterWetter. On track, my coolant temps went beyond 300 degrees before I made any significant changes like a Setrab 925 oil cooler, Dewitts radiator and TrackSpec hood louvers.
If you are running on the street with your temps the way they are, I wouldn't waste my money. Make sure your radiator and A/C condenser is free of debris and run your 50/50 solution with distilled water. With all of my other vehicles, to satisfy my OCD cravings, I change out the radiator every 10 years.

Hope this helps.

Are you asking about using it with 100% water? That’s the only way you’ll see any results and it probably not lowering cooling temps much or not more then going from 50/50 to 100% water. It will provide anti corrosion and do things antifreeze would do, so I’d say yeah use it with 100% water with 50/50 probably wasting money

Yeah I've got some of that OCD going on also. My temperature is fine. I'm new to the game and just looking to help my baby run better, faster and longer.
