So this happened today...how screwed am i? Car sat for 7months because i got tired of it eating my batteries from parasitic drain. EDIT: I didn't have any brakes issues or ABS faults prior to this. I did have a serious parasitic battery drain that I was trying hard to solve beforehand (ate brand-new batteries after 2 days of sitting to the point they would not take or hold a charge), and I think this might be related to that.

Yeah you had a bad short. If its a 01 and above you will be able to find a replacement for cheap. Anything below that is very costly due to GM being asses and not supporting those cars anymore for a while now. Refurbished should be around $500 or so. Ive seen some for $1500 You will also need to do alot of repining or a whole new connection to the ABS module and soder back in. Alot of that depends on how it looks when you separate the harness from the module.

Was a long journey but I did source a used harness and ECBM from ebay. Spliced in the harness, got my *** kicked repeatedly by the brake lines that didn't want to fit, then stripped out. Amazing, only the starter failed after 2yrs sitting (btw, you can get it out without removing long tube header). Its running now, but up on blocks while im bleeding it and awaiting a tech2 to complete that. Road test might reveal more, (got a hard ABS fault light, but that may be due to being off the ground). No leaks and pressures are all solid so thats something i suppose....
Just figured id update to maybe help someone else down the road.
Glad you found parts. Did you really wait 3 years to drive it? I’m not sure if I could have waited that long. I can’t go a whole winter without driving my C5! I usually get her out at least once a month from November to March. I might have dropped mine off at a Corvette shop and called my insurance company, and said “fix it.” Mines a 2004 base coupe. Probably easier to fix or replace the module then yours.
Good job. Take her out, let her breathe, and put your right foot through the floor. And give us an update.
