Optima core
I have an Optima red top that was replaced with a new battery a few years ago. I got the new yellow top from Amazon and no core charge was involved. Does the old red top have any value?

you could still use it to power other things around the garage and whatnot assuming it is still good

Thanks for the info. I understand that there is a procedure for putting some life back in an optima but that’s depending on my memory from long ago. The battery was still working but was at least 7 years old and I thought it might be better to go ahead and replace and upgrade to a higher reserve capacity. I’ll give it some more thought before I make a decision.
