I have to say that GM really cheaped out on the seat bladders. I honestly do not adjust the seat that much, but when I finally wanted to adjust the lumbars they did not work. In fact, out of both seats and all 8 bladders only one was still operational....I ended up placing an order with C&S corvettes and hope to have them tomorrow or so...These have the updated nipples so they will last longer. I was going to go the blood pressure bladder way, but for the extra 80 bucks or so I decided to stick with the updated oem replacements. Now if these new ones fail anytime soon then blood pressure bladders it will be...fingers crossed
If these fail any time soon you'll REALLY need the blood pressure bladders!
I hear you, but Lyle (C&S) claims that the updated nipples corrects the issue so I figured I would give it a shot. I was looking at about $80 to $100 for the blood pressure bladders on ebay and other sites unless I wanted to wait months for a China delivery. If I did I could have kept the cost to around $50-$60 bucks.....But I was not willing to wait months....I was around $190 for all 8 bladders so it was fine with me....
The bladders are at a minimum 15 years old and things do degrade over time. However, with the new ones you should be good to go for a long time.
Mine are 21 years old. I am not complaining but I heard that most failed in the first few years...I installed the new ones yesterday and all is good...
Not to ruin your thread, but my Father in Laws C5 seats getting a bit worn out.. I wonder if a set of C7 GT seats would fit in a C5... would be a hell of an upgrade if they fit
