Hope you are having fun in the C7 forums ------lots of new people there to straighten out don't let them beat up on you. LMAO Just letting you know you are not forgotten here.
Can't believe you sold your C5, E-T, but the C7 will serve you well.
I was forced at gun point to sell my C5... I definitely had seller's remorse. The saving grace was that it went to the absolute right person.. A fellow combat Vet, A real corvette guy, and a man of exemplary moral character..
On the other hand The C7 is a bridge to the C8 … Although the C7 is a really nice car.

Damn ET, did you fall down and hit your head again? I can't believe you sold your baby either Its always a good thing when it goes to the right person. I'm glad you're still in a Vette and able to enjoy life, that's what it is all about. I couldn't let mine go but when the day comes and I can manage a C8 or something newer, I will have 2 Vettes

Thanks Chris. I have been bless to know so many great people on this forum like you... It gives me a warm feeling to know that with all the bad press in the news. Good people are out there. Ive received so much support over the years here , especially since my health has taken a sharp turn. While I do have haters ( over the years they have some and gone ). This place has been a significant support group to help me get through those really bad days.

Echoing your touch with Torch Red! How many coats of Zaino!??
Ha.. you make me laugh.. here is a true story.. the first year I had my C5, I was very friendly with Sal Zaino, I Had turned most of the corvette design team onto his products.. the first year I owned my C5 I put 40 coats of Zaino on it.. the next year 30, the next year at least 20. Then maybe once a month. When I got sick in 2013 I stopped using Zaino and was unable to touch the car for two years.. after those two years around 2015 or so I realized that all of that Zaino helped me to maintain the car with that wet look with little effort..
As far as the C7 goes. Ive owned it less than 30 days.. I have 6 applications of Zaino on it. OH BTW its not an endorsement for Zaino... there are lots of good products out there.. Ill stick with this one because I know it works. I went two years with out doing a thing to my finish but the finish never suffered from the lack of attention. I owe that to the Zaino Ive always used.
The Paint on this C7 is better than the paint on my C5... It still amazes me how well that paint on my C5 has sustained it's deep wet look. The car has 100,000 miles on it, and not a single chip in the front facia.. still wetter then when I bought it New. Jay found a small cip on one of the headlight doors.. That is amazing for a 20 year old car that has been driven 100,000 miles. Zaino has to be part of that reason.. 99% optically clear. UV stable, and anti magnetic . Can be applied to a black car in 140 degree F temps.

Wow , That did sound like a Zaino commercial.. sorry. it wasn't my intention since there are lots of good products out there now .. 20 years ago this was new technology.
Bill, I think I had some conversations with Sal about the same time as well. I had to travel to an auto parts place in Howell, NJ to buy the product, since we didn’t have the online commerce then that we do now, and I wanted to see what I was buying. I later relaxed and called him to place my order. We have a lot of Zaino devotees up here too, but with the smorgasbord of products, there’s others to choose from. Funny, for me, is that when I tried to use Zaino magic on my ‘02 black Z, it didn’t do the job, no matter how close to the letter I stayed. Changed to Adam’s for awhile and it was fine (but too many steps), but now I’m using a combo of Collinite and/or Mequiar’s new synthetic on my pewter car.

Bill: I really hope you continue to contribute here even though you now have one of the nicest C7s I have ever seen! I think you have converted me to Zaino (I just spent hours applying the Meguiar's Ceramic wax on my black car!)
I rarely post there.( C7 ) When I do post its usually here... I only own a C7 , Ive been on this forum ( C5 ) for a very long time.
Lets see, you own a C7, but your still driving a C5 ( in your mine). Hey, their all Corvettes.............
Your C7 looks good make it your own. (It takes time) I still think, I am driving a 59'.
Later and Good luck
For an old guy you sure do get around well doing the Zaino thing ----must work on the old joints too. Next thing we will see is a Zanio commercial with you showing how to polish Vets and age well at the same time. New one looks great and hope you "wax on wax off" for a long time to come.
