Default Drag Pack Experts: I Need Your Experience

I am researching prior to piecing together a drag pack and am concerned about tire diameter front to rear and AH/TCS errors I may have to deal with because the diameters aren’t staggered. The setup I am planning seems to be a common practice among drag racers (based on my research), but I can’t find any conclusive yes/no regarding the impact to AH/TCS. I plan to drive to and from the track so I want it to be “right”. My plan at this point is:

- 17x5” front skinny with MT Sportsman 26x6R17 OR M&H 185/55R17
(Also considering an 18x5” front skinny with MT Sportsman 26x6R18 OR M&H 185/50R18, but that’s a moot point for my questions because it’d be the same 26” diameter)
- 17x10.5” rears with NT05R 315/35R17 tires

Crunching the numbers, the fronts would have a 26” diameter and the rears would be ~25.7”.

My questions are:
Will this setup work? Fundamentally I know it shouldn’t, but I also know advertised tire height isn’t necessarily accurate with mounted/loaded height. My hope is someone jumps in here that is running the same setup and just tells me I’m good...

Are there different tire sizes I should be considering? I’m not going to make the jump to 28” rear so that’s off the table.

Thank you in advance for your time and info

I run the 26” MT radials on the front and 25.7”Hoosier drag radials on the rear and have had no problems

That is good to know, thank you! If it isn’t too much of a pain, the next time you’re near your car could you measure the height of the front/rear wheels? I’m curious if the heights differ from the advertised height after the tires are mounted/loaded.

I don’t have the tires on the car right now and probably won’t take it out to the strip for a few weeks

A 315/35/17 is 25.7" tall so a 315/45/17 would be a lot taller.

A 305/45/17 would be 27.9" tall.

Crap, I meant 315/35R17, not 45. Good catch! I’ll edit my post
