Z06 Antenna Poll
Sorry folks, but when I attempt to read my post about the antenna question, I get "no posts found" messages - so I ask again:
Does your Z06 have a spiral wound fixed mast antenna or a smooth antenna?

Re: Z06 Antenna Poll (Fast Lane)
My car was in a car show before I bought it and I thought that the dealer may have stuck a truck antenna on it, thus my reason for asking this question.
I have purchased a new antenna (smooth) to cut down to 12" - no interest in a power antenna for me, but it would make covering the car a bit easier.
thanks for the feedback.
best regards -
mqqn

I replaced mine with a billett stubby antenna, and painted it black. I've gotten quite a few compliments on it.

'02 Smooth, cut down to 9"
I think the wire wrapped antennas are truck units and hase something to do with the wind.

That's it Carl. Put some cinder blocks in the back too...extra weight always helps.
Seriously I had a little stubby on my last one and was always looking to remove weight. I even knocked off 10 lbs from this already svelte body... :D

The electric one only weighs about 1-2 lbs more at the most, what your packing usually weighs more than that.    And you know I am not talking about that "stubby" thing either. :nono: :nono:

Re: Z06 Antenna Poll (mqqn)
I never listen to the radio. Either CD or engine. So the antennna sits on the bench and I slipped on a rubber cap on the antenna threads to make putting the cover on easier, and get rid of the mast altogether.

Re: Z06 Antenna Poll (IH8PONYS)
I have the stock smooth antenna right now, but may try to install a hidden antenna over the next few weeks.
