Default 2003 c5 z06

Hi, everyone. New subscriber. I have a 2003 C5 Z06 that has BF Goodrich tires. These tires were on it when I bought it two years ago and they are aggressive, almost racing tires with very little tread on the rears. The wheels are original. I want to put a more all-season performance tire (not run flats) all around, but am having a terrible time locating any that fit this vehicle. I was hoping to go with the Michelin Pilot Sport A3 Plus, but they are apparently out of production? The Corvette specialty shop I deal with said their tire supplier did not have ANY tires to fit this model and didn't know when they would! I live in Georgia, so cold weather/snow not an issue, but would like a tire that doesn't send me into a tailspin when a drop of water hits the road. :-) Any recommendations on tires from the group?

Thanks in advance!

I just bought a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ ZP tires for my C7 but they are different sizes than the C5 Z06 and the sizes you need may in fact be out of production - I did not check. I would suggest that you contact either the Tire Rack or Discount Tire Direct and see if they have something in stock that they could ship to you - shipping may be free from either vendor. You may have to go with a slightly different front/rear width on the tires in order to find some for a Z06. That's the unfortunate thing about the C5 Z06 - the tire manufacturers seem to have forgotten about those tire sizes.

Look at sizes that fit the coupe or vert. 245-45-17 & 275-40 -18 There is no reason why those sizes won’t work on a z. I have those sizes on my car on C5 Z06 size wheels.

If you go up to a 275/40/17 in the front, continental make a couple of tires that will work for you. Either the Extreme Contact Sport, or Extreme Contact sport DWS. The DWS is more of an all season tire. I do not know how you are planning to drive the car, but I know people that have used these tires on sportscars and have been happy with them. I use 275/40/17 on front with 295/35/18 on my tracked 01Z06 and have never had a problem with traction control.

I also have the Continental Extreme Contact Sports on my 02Z. I'm running 275/40-17 front and 295/35-18 rear. I'm very happy with the performance these tires have given me for the past 14k miles.

A lot of people also run 255 40 17s on the front and some will argue that it fits better and looks better than going with a 275. They are often quite a bit cheaper too.

Another vote for the Continentals here.

It does. Running a 275/40/17 up front will give you a taller sidewall height than that of the 295/35/18 rears. Basically, the front tire will look bigger than the rears. Like a FWD drag car.

Just so it's clear what 275/40, 295/35 combo looks like on factory Z rims.
