I have the same Z with 8,600 miles. I would ask more if I were to sell mine. $25k is a good price. Make sure the vin is not in the range of the fuel tank(s) recall. If it is make sure it WAS done. Expensive and extensive job if it hasn’t been fixed. Other than that it is the best year for C5 Z’s. Several upgrades from ‘02’s - 03’s other than valve springs.
Individual or dealer? Sounds a little high, for a non-CE.
the CE has CF hood and they made 2000+ of them. Nearly half of ‘04’s production so any ‘04 with Mod Red is more ‘rare’ in terms of volume made (though some will dispute not as desirable) so you’ll see less of them when looking for an ‘04. The Ketchup and Mustard version is the rarest of them all.

"Ketchup and Mustard" version? Is that mod red with millennium yellow? I have that car but people have called it the McDonalds version. LOL
Price may be a grand or two over what many would pay but the chance to get a 10k pristine z06 seems worth it to me. In the long run a few grand doesn't mean much and the car is one of the best rides ever made.

Gorgeous. Lowered on stock bolts? And do give the dirty details on those rubber huggers - wheel tire size if you don't mind.
Provided everything checks out if it's what you want then the price is right on. I agree that you can probably buy it cheaper and you should if you can but if it takes full asking price to buy it then do it. You can't buy anything these days for $25K. Think about the performance you're getting and the color combo that you want. It's worth a couple of grand either way in my opinion. Take a few more minutes to look at the pictures from Leader One. Fine looking car. C5 Z's are great cars...they look fast just sitting still.

IMO... start off at 23,500 and deduct for everything the car needs.
- Original tires? (too old to be reliable)
- Original fluids? (need to be changed just due to age)
- Anything else?
Few months ago I bought an 04 w/36k miles and it recently had $2,300 worth of maintenance done at a Chevy dealership. It also has full exhaust, shifter, newer tires, and a clutch bleed kit installed.
Don't want to disclose how much I paid but it was less than 25k

And what value would you put on the difference between 10,000 miles and 36,000? It is substantial.

It's not, really. Few thousand at most. You wouldn't sell yours and that's great, but to expect everyone to pay top dollar because you want it.... well that's just not how it works.
I would much rather have a 30-40k mile car with documented service and use than a 10k mile garage queen that hasn't moved because its owner thought it was his retirement fund.

I think it’s a great deal and it’s the best “bang for the buck” of anything out there! I bought something similar last year for more and absolutely never looked back. I love the car!!!!
Bought my 02Z a few years ago for $24.5k. It had 8800 miles and the dealer wanted $27k, but after a little haggling over tires, fluids, etc, they lowered the price. The price on the 04Z is fair, but definitely try to go lower by using necessary maintainence stuff like fluids, belts, hoses, tires, etc as a haggling point.

You might well rather have a 40,000 mile car but that sure does not make it worth more. Then again, I also don't expect anyone to pay anything for mine as it isn't for sale. I can also assure you that if any C5 is any serious part of your retirement, starving to death might well be possible in your future!
You're misinterpreting my statement. I never said more miles = more money. I'm saying that low miles does not = significantly more money. Yes, the hyper low mileage car will be worth more to the right buyer. To someone who drives the car and intends to do so, it raises more red flags than a well-maintained example that actually got to go be a car.
Drive your car and enjoy it. That's what they were built for.

Ah- first world problems. We are talking about a sports car here. In the grand scheme of things it’s always nice to say you got a great deal on a toy- but reality is that a few grand on a toy, especially a low mile toy, will not really deprecate that much than it already has. So spend a little more to get the one you want, because in the end if you buy a different one that’s not the one you really were after, what have you done? If an10k mile car is what the OP wants, and it’s within his budget, a 40k mile car may come along for $2000 less, but we’re talking the cost of miles and wear and tear.
Buy it, drive it, or watch it sit beautifully in your garage.
