I don’t think this issue has been addressed before, us older guys and gals ( I’m 77) seem to have trouble getting in and out of our corvettes, has anyone figured out how to raise the car or seat about 6” to help with this issue.
your comments are appreciated.

aftermarket seats may be able to raise you up more than the stock. But if you’re staying with stock probably some spacers on the 4 bolts that attach the seat to the frame as well as removing your bottom seat cover and building up the foam above the bottom of the seat frame. Not sure if it will get you six inches though.

In all seriousness, how do you ingress/egress? I have an older friend (70's), 6' 2" and he struggled getting in and out of his C7 because he was trying to ingress/egress like any "normal" car. I showed him an easier way...butt first, both feet still on the ground, ease yourself onto the seat, then swing both of your feet in. Opposite for getting out.

mrgil, I know your issue. At 76 with a bad left knee I was having trouble in/out of my C5. Here is what I bought. It really helps as long as your left arm is not a strength issue.

Car Cane™ - Get in and out of your car with ease!

Does it scratch the paint where it locks in? From the video it looks like the point is on the paint of the car.

I feel like you'd have to be about 3' tall to be able to raise the seat height by 6" and not have your head in a hole in the roof.

.....and don't forget to take it out before you shut the door. Ouch.

Ideally, I’d like to raise the whole car hydraulically. 3-4 inches may do.

This item really works. NO damage to the car . After a accident I needed leverage to get out of the car .It works fine and I am 6 ft 2in.
I don't use it now but it is,in the trunk.
Good luck.

I’ve been doing it that way since I got mine, just falling in isn’t an option, things get in the way ouch! Then getting out is even harder.

The butt first, then swing the legs in method has worked for me for years and I do not have any mobility problems. Give it a try. Not sure you can raise the seat up 6” and have adequate head room.

I'm not looking forward to exiting and entering when I get older. I'm 6'3" and 250 lbs. It already hurts my knees!

He's probably some young punk who spends most of his time behind the wheel texting and endangering everyone else on the road...
