Default C5 Tires/Wheels - Suggestions?

Hey Everyone,

Happy to have found this forum and a proud new owner of a beautiful C5. I recently purchased a 2000 C5 from a family member who has not driven it over the past 2-3 years (They were sick). I am in the process of getting the car inspected and need to have all of my tires replaced. Here is where my issue begins. The car has the C5 Z06 wheels. However, the back tires are 335/30/18. The fronts are 275's. The shop that inspected my car suggested I just purchase four (4) new tires/rims as they cannot purchase 335s and do not want to install, mount, or balance them. I have attached pictures and wanted to get everyone's thoughts.

A 335 is way too big for a 10.5" width wheel. Oem C5Z rear is a 295/35/18. Nothing wrong with a 275/40/17 on the front.

Thanks for the quick response! Is it possible that the width of those back wheels are 12"?

No, a 12" wheel would have poke. Those might not even be OEM Z06 wheels. Take one off and look for SPEEDLINE in one of the spokes to be sure. If yes, OEM. If not (more likely) - chrome replicas.

Chrome Z06 wheels are uncommon. Only available on the commemorative edition cars, if I remember right.

Thanks for the reply. Sadly, I don’t have the equipment at the time being due to a few things to get one of them off. The car is at my family members and I was looking to have the tire issue fixed before taking it as I live further away.

Thanks for the reply, definitely informative. But from a diameter perspective, we're pretty positive they are 10.5"? I ask because I do not have access to the vehicle to verify the rims. It is currently at my family members because it needs new tires before it can be driven a far distance. I wanted to get an idea what tires to get to put my current rims (In the picture on).

Thank you again!

Probably 10.5s, yeah. That's the factory size.

New wheels range dramatically in price. My C5 is not the first place I spend my money, so no super expensive brands for me. I bought a wheel/tire/TPMS kit from Tire Rack combining Mich A/S tires with something called "Sport Muscle" wheels about 7 years ago. No problems, no regrets and they still look good (to me, at least) being very like C6 ZR1 wheels. And definitely not chrome, which IMO, really does not suit a Silver car. Looks good with red or black tho'. $2300 all up.

Great. I will pick up two tires for that size then. Thinking similar to what the poster said above, 295/35/18.

Tirerack was the first place I looked as they send them to you mounted and all. Any suggestions from there that would look good on a red C5? Appreciate the response! I did not see any chrome.

On the front, you can go with either a 255/40/17 or 275/40/17. Oem C5Z fronts are 265/40/17 but that sizing is hard to find.

What would you recommend for the back?

As mentioned before, 295/35/18 is the oem C5Z rear size. What is the primary use of the car? What is your tire budget?

I purchase my chrome wheels from Midwest Tires and they are OEM. Be careful of trying to save money by buying cheap chromes as they will be Chinese knockoffs and will start peeling within a year. I put Goodyear tires on my car as I drive it daily and don't do any speed racing.

i used to have those 335 michelins back in the day which were on an 18x11 wheel.

your rear tires don't appear to be bulging all that much; maybe your wheels are wider than 10.5 because they're obviously not factory.

welcome to the corvette world.

you may also want to tighten the fender at the bottom.
