I have an '02 coupe, 6spd mm. Engine is stock. Exhaust is stock too, except I have done the bypass. I love everything about the car but could use more mid rpm torque. So I'm considering a super charger but want to keep the stock hood and that leads me to the pro-charger style (vs positive displacement). I understand the P/C builds boost with RPM so you don't get much effect in midrange. Since I'm looking for improvement in the 2-4K range, is it worth it? Do some units better provide low rpm torque than others?
i have a ECS unit novi 1500 in my z06 with a forged engine and love it ...the car perform's amazing and has a pretty amazing rpm range and tame enough for everyday use if wanted to and a beast when i open her up you can't really go wrong
SC is great, But don't think you are spending cash only on the centri, you will
need headers, and alot more to make the expense worth while. Think it through.
There are alot of ways to get to your goals. First..how much do you want to
spend on the completed project what ever it may be.
Good luck

if you pulley them right you can make good power in the midrange but that also transfers over to the top end which some people with stock motors don't want... there are ways to limit top end boost like shifting early, using a wastegate, or a restrictor plate but that presents it's own issues by raising your intake air temps if you are restricting it a lot
If you are looking for more power in the 2-4k range then you want a positive displacement super charger, but as you mentioned no one makes one that will fit under the stock hood. I went with A&A kit which delivered 536hp and 476tq at 6.2k rpm, have never regretted going the super charged route.
Thx to all for the feedback. I'll need to give this more thought. I love the 'tone' of the car as it is now. Don't want headers. Don't want a new exhaust. So maybe I'd need to go with positive dis blower and do the hood. Or just be happy with what I have ....
I love my roots sticking out. Very rarely do I get wanna be racers challenging at stop lights. You'd be surprised how many times people come up and ask me what that is sticking out.

Try an eforce or heartbeat blower, they usually are designed to fit under stock hoods.
Whipple makes a new twin-screw blower that will fit under a stock C5 hood.
I must research this!
There is a YouTuber that goes by Camaro Rick that did an Eforce kit on a C5Z and he was able to make it fit under the stock hood but it took more monkeying around than I'd ever want to do.
I've been wanting to play around with a factory LSA blower on a C5 but that also takes some cutting to make fit and of course won't fit under the stock hood at all.

I thought I saw a photo of a C5 with one installed and it still had a stock hood. After looking at Whipples website just now, I'm starting to think I'm wrong.
If so, I apologize for the error.
OP,
Call Andy or Josh at A&A Corvette, and discuss your needs/wants with them. They'll tell you exactly what is possible, and what is not, with SuperCharging a stock C5, and beyond.
You won't regret having called them to discuss your car, and if you go with their SC, you won't regret that, either!
They're one of a few folks in the country who have metric boatloads of experience with C5, literally from day 1 of its release.
