Vert Top
Have a question and will try to keep it as short as possible but want to give you all the details. Live in sunny, humid and rainy Florida. Vette is kept out doors, it has the light vert top of the 03 AE Edition. Up till now the top has always looked brand new with not a mark on it. Have posted pictures a few time when asked how to maintain it.
Every so often. I 50/50 with bleach and water to keep it looking new. Top does absorb water when it is washed, rains or 50/50 treated but never leaks. After the last 50/50 about a month ago I decided to waterproof the top a few days later so water beads up on it as suggested on this forum.
After the top dried it looked like a brush was used on the top depending where you stood. One side looked good and smooth and looking from the other side looked like the top had been brushed with streak and rough looking marks. It finally looked like normal again but the top started to have mildew spots again as it has been very hot, raining and humid. I thought using the waterproofing product it would avoid or cut down on this problem.
This morning I gave it a 50/50 to remove the spots, putting it on it did not absorb but beaded up as it should. Once it dried all the mildew spots were still there. This never happened till I used the waterproofing product, wish to hell I never used it.
Anyone have ideas or suggestions on what to do or just have to wait till the product wears off. Really did not think I would have this mildew problem let alone not being able to remove it. Thank you all very much. Fin

It works great but not wind proof. I added some additional Velcro fasteners that helped.
I agree, wind blows rain right in. It's more for sunny days when you don't feel like putting the top up and down all the time. Plus it looks really cool, it's like a boat cover.
