I like that look. I did something similar with modifying the OEM badge by removing the ring and just keeping the flags and crossed poles.
There used to be a vendor that sold replacement inlays for the OEM badge. I remember a couple versions but not sure if there were any solid blackout ones.

I agree about Grabber Blue and Orange. Both look badass on C5's. My paint job was a "budget" paint job. He used (so he says) really high quality paint with plenty of clear thickness, but the "budget" aspect of the paintjob was that panels were not removed, just a lot of tape masking. It came pretty good and I'm happy for what I wanted vs. what I was willing to spend. As you can tell from my previous pictures, it came out pretty good looking once we got it wet-sanded and polished.
