footwell fuse box
I am looking to add a camera rear-view mirror powered from the foot-well fuse box. Several fuse locations are labeled "Blank". Are these locations "Hot" and available to add an accessory like the powered rear-view mirror? I see there are fuse taps available. I'd just cut off the cig lighter plug and splice this on.

Not tqo make it too complicated .....but.....
Just plug that fuse tap into one of the blank spots.
Connect it to the device.
If it works.
Stop.
If it doesnt.
Remove the fuse from one of the labled spots.
Insert it into the fuse tap.
Plug the fuse tap into that spot.
Happy motoring....

So, no one (so far) knows what the "Blank" fuse ports are on a C5 Corvette. Hmmmm!
I'm sure I can figure it out, Just trying to use others experience to simplify my life. Usually this forum is a wealth of corvette knowledge of every type.

It's always best to include your car info as some setups change after a few years.
From a CF member: Through '03, GM provided a spare electrical connection batch of wires for switched accessory power. That's what I used to connect my Valentine-1. In '04, they stopped providing that. I, too, found out that fuse #22 was switched power, and used it for my V1 in my '04.
