I am very close to buying myself a z06. Only one thing... I have never been in one. I am wondering if anyone in the Northern Virginia (reston/herndon/leesburg) area would be so kind as to allow me to test fit myself into their car. -- I am not asking for a test drive, but just a quick ride in the passenger seat of your z06.
Also, I have read about the ring problem on the '01s. Is this a big enough problem for me to avoid buying an 01? Or is it fine after the fix is made under warranty? Any other items I should look out for?
Most every large dealer now has Z06's in stock and would be happy to give you a test drive. After driving, an 03 when you look at 01's you, would be able to compare and decide which year you want to buy. There is little difference between 02 and 03.
Good Hunting! You will enjoy the reight Z06! :chevy :flag :chevy :flag
My friend I work with was kind enough to let me borrow his '01 Z06 to take my wife to lunch one day. It was a rocket. It was very comfortable & much easier to get in & out of than my 96. I'm in the process of looking for one right now as well. Most all dealers have several in stock and will be glad to let you take a test drive. As far as '01 problems, I believe if they took care of the "blow by" problem under warranty, the rest of the car is pretty sound. I don't know about the 02 & 03 issues, but I'm sure the folks here can fill you in on any. Happy hunting.
