I totally get your screen name. Check out the for sale section. Plenty of nice ones there. Read up on the common issues as well. I don't think you can buy a better performing car for the money.
Having just bought a 2001 I can pass along some info. You generally get what you pay for but there are exceptions. I have seen examples from 12k to 30k+ in my search. The 12-15k ones have obvious issues, accidents, or high mileage (really not a problem, some have gone 3-400k). Get the Autocheck 10 pack when you are serious, some of the things sellers try to hide is amazing. If you buy from a seller here most of that is not an issue but verify anyway. Do you need to see the car in person first? Up to you and your risk tolerance. I have had good luck buying cars sight unseen, but this was certainly the most expensive. If you are going to finance a dealer makes the process MUCH easier, and many dealers will broker a private party deal and finance it for a reasonable fee which gives you some protection. Look locally first, if you are near a decent size city there should be a few for sale. Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, autotrader.com, hemmings are some of the places to look. My search lasted a month, and I am confident I got exactly what I was looking for right on this forum although it hasn't arrived yet. Next decision after you buy, ship the car or fly and drive. I chose transport and I am really nervous. They picked up the car today. What could possibly go wrong
I picked up an unmolested 03 z06, low miles (36000), one owner, AZ car. torch red, mod red int. last Jan for 20000.The car is probably a 7+. Everything worked, no codes. I changed valve springs and seals and all fluids. Been a great car so far, 4500 miles since I bought it no troubles. I love driving it and I still look it over every time I go in the garage. (still can't believe it's mine, was my birthday present from my great wife, she is not a car nut, but even she looks at it and tell me how beautiful it is.) Take your time and find a good one. You won't regret it Gary
