hi all, i recently scored an awesome red with a black top convertible. i decided to re-con my front calipers with black high temp paint. using my wife's emory board nail files i was able to clean up the "corvette" lettering.
they came out mint. i notice the rears do not have any lettering is that standard or have they been replaced with something other than stock..in any case i'm gonna paint them just clean up the look.
any feed back will b greatly appreciated GO PATRIOTS
Nice looking vert. The calipers in the back have no lettering that is standard.
thanks DA1984VETTE problem solved
i bought an 84 new. they were awesome in their day. i recently sold my 93 ruby ragtop.
what a different e between c4s and c5s
my last 7 vettes were c4s but i have left that world forever. 😊😊😊
Painting looks grungy pretty quick. For best results over time buy new/used C5Z06 calipers which are identical to base versions except they’re factory powder coated. They stay bright red for decades (my ‘01z was made August ‘00 and they look great).
Not expensive either. Consider also swapping stainless brake lines instead of the factory rubber (that bulge/flex) which helps with a crisp pedal feel.

I really liked my 84. They get a lot of unfair criticism, never had any problems with mine. Friend wanted to buy mine thought I gave him a high price...he bought it..guess it wasn't high enough. I should have kept it, but I really like my 98.

I have to disagree. My 98 coupe had Z06 calipers on them and they did not hold up well. But, the calipers I painted on my 02 still look great after 16 years.
