10313647 – C6 Z06 Front Shocks
25819268 – C6 Z06 Rear Shocks

Those are the oem part numbers. With a little shopping around, you should be able to find a set for around $225.

$225 for four shocks is a pretty good price. And you'll like the difference the C6 Z06 shocks will have on your car.

I have a set still in boxes but i am too chicken to put them because of what i have heard about a harsh ride...and ride height being increased...
And NO i will not sell them....

Z06 shocks should not increase the ride height. That's the spring's job, not the dampers.

YELLO!!! Didn’t we discuss this over 6 months ago? PUT THEM ON!!! A “performance/heavy duty/whatever” shock does not have to guarantee a harsher ride. The purpose of these shocks is to control extreme conditions. When riding around on smoother roads, or ‘normal conditions’ there is a very slight increase in firmness. It’s when things get touchy, the stronger shock reacts more quickly and firmly to keep the suspension where it belongs, in contact with the road. I’ve forgotten I have them when I drive my car. JUST DO IT.

No experience with the C6 Z06 shocks, but I HATED the Bilstein sport shocks on my C5 Z51. Stock shocks were far preferable, the Bilstein sports made you feel every pebble in the road. (not in a good way)

C6Z shocks do not do that.

I replaced the 2004 Z06 shocks on my 02 C5Z about three months ago and replaced them with new Bilstein B8 Sports. At first, the ride quality was about the same or a little worse. Honestly thought about taking them off the car but they were such a PITA to change, I resigned myself to just living with the harsh ride. However, after about three months and 300 miles or so, it almost seems like they are breaking-in because the ride quality has improved quite a bit. I think a lot of the problem is my car's low ride height, Pfadt swaybars, and O'Connell springs. IOW, don't think my car's ride quality will ever be confused with a standard C5.

It would be nice if I could ride in a unmodified C5Z just so I could compare the ride quality between the two cars.

CHASBOY !!!...How am i supposed to remember a discussion 6 months ago when i sometimes can't remember a discussion from yesterday?
When the weather gets warmer again i will put them on and if i don't like the ride i can always switch back...right?
BTW....a reliable source here on the forum..a certain engineer here on the forum......has always said that in using the C6Z06 shocks... that there is a trade off...softer ride or stiffer ride with bit more stabillity.....anyhoo....thanks again for your input

I'm enjoying the thread. I'm considering taking the F55 shocks off my 03 coupe and putting the Z shocks on since the F55 shocks are so expensive. Mine are a little worn from being 17 years old and not having the shipping blocks removed until the other day...lol.

Wade, I don’t think you will be sorry. Friend of mine with your shocks paid almost $600 for ONE.

Yello, I’m cursed with photographic memory, that being said, you have to remember important conversations! I know what the “certain engineer” has to say, but remember all butts have different comfort meters. However another occasional visitor to this and other parts of these forums, who has extensive racing instruction experience, was an officer of the Museum, and presently drives a 2006 C6Z with 142K on it advised me with the info I provided above and assured me I would be happy with the ride and would not feel excessive harshness. As I’ve stated I feel no harshness of any kind, only a slight uptick in overall firmness. In other discussions with my friend, he also advised me of how certain years of C6Z would not be to my liking because of harshness. Part of the reason for this is that the one of the 3 major suspension components that would guarantee a harsh ride are the springs, which I have no interest in replacing. Some might say that for my AutoX activity I should replace them, but I’d rather deal with a second slower time once in awhile than a possibly harsh ride all the time.

yellow I put some on this summer on my 02 coupe along with C6 Z51 sway bars and do not regret it. The car does ride a little stiffer but not any more so than our 2015 Edge Sport. Oh did I mention on corners it handles like a rocket ship on rails. Also, this fall I was following a Z51 optioned C7 around in the ozark hills and was able to stay with it.
