My driver's outside mirror lens has a big fade spot in it and is hard to see out of especially when driving away from the sun. Called my local Chevy dealer and a replacement lens is $462.16!
Anybody have an alternate source that might be a little cheaper?
It’s not auto dimming, but for $15 or so you can get one that mounts on top of the existing mirror with double sided tape. I’ve had one for several years without issue. Check Amazon.

Thanks. I guess I can do that and see how it works out. I like the self dimming feature but don't drive the Corvette at night much.
I put a standard non-dimming replacement glass on my car after the same thing. I think I paid like $10 on Amazon for it (just like the stick on ones from the Rock Auto screenshot above). The auto-dimming ones are insanely expensive. Been fine on the car for nearly a year and two track days with 150+ speeds.

Good suggestions, and depends on whether you need the auto dim function.

Had the same problem and just recently bought a glass from fleabay for around $12 and you can't even tell it is on top of the old mirror......screw the stealership...
The original mirror, I took out and attempted to deal with the leaky auto dimming fluid and glued it all back together. It looks only OK - there's a sort of a burn mark (I posted in another thread somewhere) - the fluid was hiding some scratches and stuff on the metal layer which were not visible but are now that the clear glass piece is on top without the fluid in between. It was decent enough but the black plastic frame broke. I decided to replace it but to go with the 12530715 part, which is the one with heat but no auto dimming. I can't for the life of me snap it in correctly so that the motors adjust it. It just flops around. It's a bit worse that the original because there are no metal arms on this new one. It's not making good contact with the motor controls. I thought I snapped it in there pretty good. I'm hoping I didn't waste my money. I need to hit Youtube or something. I'm obviously not doing the reinstall correctly since this happens with both the original and this new one.

The ball joint arms inside the mirror can unseat when you remove the mirror. You need to make sure that they are snapped into the mirror movement mirror fully.

Yes, that's exactly what it was. Those arms are the pieces that stick up and have little springs on the end. I had them still on the motor and they were shoved all the way in. They need to be on the mirror. I used some lube to be able to snap them in. It's hard to do on a brand new mirror. I used a clamp and had bubble wrap on the glass. The snap sound it made was scary. I thought I broke the glass. Now I just have to get some Windex and I'm all set.
