Obviously wear and tear and discoloration. Make sure the framework moves smoothly up and down, the latches secure the top properly, and the weatherstripping is in good condition.

With the top in its full attached up position, Inspect the outside of the rear window to see if there is any noticeable gap between the glass and top. Then release the tension on the front latches and do the inspection again. Separation between the fabric and glass is a common problem with the Verts but is repairable by DIY'ers. Good luck on your inspection.
