Need some advice. My convertible top needs some work. The top itself and headliner are in good shape but the weatherstripping all needs to be replaced and some of the frame rails need to be stripped and repainted/powder-coated.
This looks to be a doable job but I'd like to see if anyone has some suggestions on where to source the parts or advice on the effort from experience? Looking for all of the weatherstripping around the windshield and windows as well as the a-pillar window trim (original, not carbon fiber etc.). I've found a few places that sell most of it and I expect it to be pricey...but hope I can find a better deal.

My advice would be, get a new top. Buy the weatherstrips, they're not expensive at all. Replace everything and be done with it. I did it some years ago on my C5 and probably had $700 in it including all tools and glue and rivets and everything. I did a thread on it back in 12 or 13. All the metal parts are going to be out where you can get to em once the top is removed. I'd also get new plastic tack strips for the top to staple to. They rivet fast to the top's framework and they're something everyone should replace when doing a top. I would not bother with an expensive top, I'm pretty sure they're all the same thing rebranded.
I'd be interested in where you got your weatherstripping. A full set looked like $1500, which seemed crazy. Has to be a cheaper place, I want to replace it all.

Either the GM dealership or a forum vendor, I don't recall. It's been years ago now. Wasn't much money. Used some 3M weatherstrip adhesive that came in a tube also. Again, relatively cheap I thought. I can't recall prices, but I do recall it being inexpensive (relatively). Certainly not enough for me to glue a window back in as some folks do, that's for sure.
