New and very happy C5 owner but I had to finish up my detailing OCD by removing previous owners’ DNA which I assumed was lurking under the 20-year-old seats. Looked around for a reasonably priced cleaner and after comparing, decided on the Bissell Little Green Pro Carpet Cleaner. Reviews were pretty good and the price point attractive.
Anyway... took out the seats, power vacuumed and put the new tool to use. Cleaner sprays out in a nice pattern and suction to remove liquid is quite good. Decent brush on the head but I agitated carpet with a stiffer carpet brush in any dirty areas. I’m impressed with the amount of filth that came up. Picture is just passenger side’s efforts. Gross. Now though, all clean and fresh and ready to put seats back.
Bought this at Walmart for $150, which was $50 cheaper than AutoGeek. Bissell makes multiple “Little Greens” so you may shake your head at the lack of inventiveness especially when they also offer a different model in a different color that’s exactly the same except for the spray / suction attachment. To make this more confusing, Bissell lists the Little Green Pro for $129 - cheaper than anywhere - but they can’t sell it directly. Or won’t. Despite my efforts with their customer service rep, I eventually gave up. Yeah, I’m confused too. Summation; excellent for deep cleaning carpets, pretty sturdy, quite compact and good price. Might make a nice Christmas gift. For yourself!
Thanks for the info. I’ve been looking to do a deep cleanse on the carpets myself. Never wanted to pay a detailer because it always has the chemical smell afterwards. This looks like a great option. Does it clean with steam and/hot water?
No steam. It does use hot water but you fill up the water/formula reservoir from the tap. Next time, I'll fill the reservoir halfway; you can see how little water one side used. They make other models that heat water, but again, this was the best option in my view. Agree with you on detailer - not just the smell but pricing. I'm certain the good ones deservedly earn their money but I wasn't going to go there when I knew I could do it. This unit comes with a small bottle of their "professional" cleaner with Scotchgard. The fragrance is light and dissipates.
We have one we use on our dog accidents in the house. Works great! I haven't used it in any of our vehicles yet, but I can see why it would work well for the car too!
I read these threads and now, yet another tool I have to buy and another task I have to do LOL
this Corvette is getting expensive!
Nice job! I wonder if I can get that cheaper on BF?
Maybe, so! I like it. Walmart was the cheapest but they won’t match the $129 Bissell price. Bissell has an online sale now. If you’re feeling intrepid, call them and see if you can get someone in charge to sell you it at their advertised price plus discount! Good luck!
I have the Big Green Machine, didn't know there was a little one too. If anyone is interested the big green does a fantastic job just like this small was does, but you can also clean the carpets in the house!
