I'm looking for suggestions for a wheel brush that I can use to clean my C5 thin 5-spoke polished aluminum wheels. It has to be (A) long enough to reach the inside of the barrels and (B) narrow enough to fit between the barrel and the brake caliper. And just to narrow down the choices, I'd like to buy from a current forum vendor in good standing.
The Adam's Large Barrel Brush could be a possibility, though I am not sure if it will satisfy requirement (B). I might need to go with the Small Barrel Brush. Or maybe one of each? Anyone using these brushes? Or have other suggestions?
I have yet to find a barrel brush that will fit between the stock front brakes and a 17" wheel. I always end up rolling the car. If someone knows of one I'm all ears.
I use a Speedmaster wheel brush. I am able to clean the wheel barrel behind my Wilwood 6-piston calipers without moving the car. Pretty much a standard go-to product in the detailing world. You may find other members' preferences if you search the Car Care section.

Yeah, I didn't measure it, but it looks like the gap is maybe a quarter of an inch.

Yup, I am running stock Z wheels and stock brakes and there is no way that speedmaster brush would fit any different than the brush I'm using now. The sticks look identical.
I have the blue version of the Speedmaster brushes sold by WCC. They do work great, but they don't fit between the front brake calipers and rims on my 02Z so you still have to roll the car a little to get that spot.
Do the bristles work as well as foam brush for getting the brake dust off? I've been using these "rectangular foam brushes" that you see the vendors at Carlisle hawking - and they work pretty well....

I have both the Adam's barrel brush and the one that fry fryarms has. The Adam's does a bett er r job of "physically touching" the wheels to clean them but the small handle fatigues your wrist very quickly, one wheel quickly; it's even worse if your hands are wet.
It should have been designed with a handle like the one on the speed master brush. Consequently, I use the speedmaster over the Adam's and it cleans fairly well. The bristles are soft so they don't scratch so you do have to spend a little more time cleaning but your hands and wrist dont hurt during or after. I am trying to find a grip that I can put on the Adam's brush to make it work but ax of now, I say buy the one fryarms has
I have the large wheel wooley from Adams but my go to is the their speed stick. They are the cats meow to barrel of the wheel cleaning and gets it done quick.

Are you referring to the "Adam's Mini Turbo Stick"? That does look like it might work.
Thanks for mentioning it! I didn't even see it on their web site until I went looking for it.
no problem! I have a younger onset of rheumatoid arthritis and my hands would ache so bad after cleaning my wheels, bought the turbo stick with the drill it is way easier and does a really good job on the barrels.
