Default Daytime Driving lights

Does anyone have the problem with their daytime driving light bulbs not lasting very long, only a few months? Basic auto zone bulbs.

Do you have any issues with water getting into the light housing and affecting the bulbs? Might be something to look into.

Usually one or both of the following problems:

1. The standard halogen bulbs in the housing eventually burn a hole in the top of the housing that lets water in. Causes the lamps to burn out.
2. The bulb sockets are famous for being corroded causes the bulbs to fail.

Recommend inspecting the top of the corner housing for the burnt hole and also inspecting the drl sockets and replace if needed. Also put LED's in they will not burn the hole in the new housing Here is link to one of the sites supporting vendors that sells aftermarket replacement corner lights and bulbs.

My '98 is still on its original bulbs. Got to be a problem with your vehicle.

Completely agree with all of this.

I had a burnt out bulb.
Discovered one or both turn signal housings had a hole. A past PO tried covering it with duct tape, but that didn't hold up (due to bulb heat).
Replacement bulb still didn't really work.
Found that bulb socket was a bit burned as well, so I cleaned it out, adjusted contacts, and applied dielectric grease.
Ordered new turn signal housings.
Ordered "type 2" switchback LED bulbs from eBay for $19.
Installed new bulbs and housings and really enjoy the appearance! (and functionality)

I’ll take a look at the housing and try the grease. I already bought the LED bulbs. Have not installed yet. Thanks

I installed LED DRL's in mine at about 9500 miles, my passenger side housing was starting to melt, the driver side was perfect.

Make sure the LED's are same length as the stock bulbs or else they might not fit.

I’ve been blowing bulbs because of water getting into the housing during far washes. Is there any way to avoid this? Doesn’t look like the drl housing has a water seal. Thanks.

Mine were burning out so I just pulled the fuse. I put the fuse back in when I go to the DMV.
