but I am gonna get flowmaster super 10 and make it fit for c5
Corsa extreme is just awesome i have corsa extreme on my C7 Z06 and the sound is absolutely amazing,
but the price tag is very high, I can spend that money on other fun parts for the c5 and get the flowmaster.

From my understanding C6 Z06 suspension parts fit on C5?
sway bars
shocks and leaf spring?
is it better to buy aftermarket parts or stock C6 parts ?
Keep in mind that suspension geometry/ratios must be kept relatively proportionate to spec in order to prevent understeer/oversteer concerns.
I assembled the following for my car and it handles very well for a Vert:
C6 base wheels (I am not going to disclose my tire choice as your thread will get hijacked)
C6 Z06 shocks (AC Delco)
C6 Z51 front spring
C5 Z51 rear spring
C5 Z06 front sway bar
C6 Z51 rear sway bar
Poly bushings
i am not sure, I am not familiar with the c5 enough to tell the difference from the tips,
but exhust on it can’t be aftermarket, I can’t hear it, it’s as quiet as luxury sedan.

thats aftermarket. Looks to be an early corsa. And if it’s quiet most likely the touring which was later discontinued.
Agree with waiting as you have the F45 set up. Many seem to with the Air Raid or Vararam CAI kits. The delete kit will eliminate it from the car's diagnostics so that you can run the C6 Z06 or Bilsteins without throwing codes. There are some great stories when that set up fails (not unheard of around 50k miles) and those shocks are expensive! Going the path you mention is going to yield a far better ride. Check your sway bar end links too. I think 2001 had metal instead of the earlier composite ones (known to crack).
Good call on endlinks. I have a 2001 and one set was plastic ,the other set was metal...so one of them got replaced at some point before I owned it...lol. I picked up Moog metal end links, cheapest I could find. Some sellers think they're gold or something...
OP, be selective/patient when buying parts. Take some time and do your research. I'd hate to see you end up spending just as much as you could have just bought a set of coilovers for haha.
Intake...Vararam is a popular/viable choice, but if you want to save a couple hundred dollars, look up "zip tie mod". Basically an open element filter on the end of your stock inlet. Save money for things that you'll actually notice a difference with or that you'l see more often If you want to keep it simple, you can do the zip tie mod and get a mail order tune from ECS for the price you'll pay for an aftermarket intake only. The tune is worth it alone just to get rid of the 1-4 skip shift and adjust cooling fan activation (you're in SoCal, you'll want that next summer), but it should give you a nice little SOTP difference as well.

Not only annoying, downright dangerous if you find yourself actually needing second in an emergency. Scared me a couple times before when I forgot about the forced shift when I didn't want it.
First thing's first, make sure everything is in good order (replace all fluids, plugs and wires, etc). If you want to keep it simple and cheap, just the zip tie mod and mail order tune is a good ~$200 spent. Like a lot of us, it's not nearly enough after a while. Best advice is to drive it for a while exactly the way it sits right now and then figure out what you want/need to change and spend the money right the first time. It's a fun/capable car already; do a little something to make it yours, but take the time to appreciate it as it sits first, because once you go off the deep end modding, it will never be the same lol. Too many of us start chasing mods right off the bat because we're excited and ends up being money down the hole later when we replace/upgrade what we already spent money on. But if this is a hobby of yours and you take joy in doing them, even repeatedly, then carry on. I've just accepted the fact that it's my hobby

i enjoy playing with my cars, but I definitely agree with your advice, I am gonna drive it the way it is for a while and slowly personalize it.
there are few things that I’ll do right away,
1-4 shift skip,
exhaust,
zip tie mod
and lower the vehicle,
Later on leaf springs, shocks and sway bars,
i will not be tracking the car, I just want solid stiff suspension for curvy road.
coilovers will be way to much for me.
i never thought I would own a corvette, I always drove European sports cars,
I didn’t know how fun and reliable corvettes are compared to other sports cars.
and now 2 of them parked in my garage and I love them.
An aftermarket shifter is also a nice mod. I have a Breathless Performance shifter in my car. There are many on the market to choose from. Enjoy your car. C5s are great.

Did some homework before hand and knew going in that I will need spend additional $$$ before I feel comfortable driving the car. So after a new set of Continental Extreme Traction tires ( had the 16 year old originals still on) , changed out the oil-filter, replaced the valve springs, got the column lock bypass kit in hand but still to install it, as changing out the rest of the fluids. But other than that I'm learning how to drive this car in the "spirited mode". I may even sign up for a driving school her in the DFW area. Enjoy...Merry Christmas

thats a beautiful ride, the z06 I was going to get was yellow 2003 with 22.000 miles on it.

i think once I replace the leaf springs, I will get the shocks done at the same time.
My insurance paid for the m3, I wanna Invest that on the corvette with a quality parts.

The F45 system worked okay - ride was fine and I could never tell any difference between the three settings. They were extremely expensive to replace if you really wanted to, as in one cost as much as four brand new Z06 shocks. Mine hadn't gone out yet but I got a good deal on lightly used Z06 shocks. You can use simulators to make the computer think the F45s are still installed and functioning (computer will limit car to 80 mph safety mode if it does not detect them) or, if you know someone with the GM scan tool (Tech-II, I think), you can get the F45 coded out so no need for simulators. I got lucky and Bill Curlee (a frequent contributor on this board) offered to code it out for me at Carlisle one year (2012 if I recall). Z06 shocks and sway bars and code out the F45 and you will be happy. Oh, and C5s look great in Mag Red!
