As some of you may have read mid 2019 I gave my ‘99 Convertible to my son. Christmas 2019 he and his wife are at our house and he leaves only to call from their hotel that the car is not going into park. I had car put on flatbed and brought back to my house. Looked at rear shift cable bushing first - hoping that was cause - but it was ok. Pulled shifter and found the cable was kinked with the bushing still intact. So, called tow company to take the car to a good dealership here in Nashville NC. Estimate comes in just short of $360,00 total for new shift cable installed. Now I’ll tell that boy to keep the car at his place!
That’s a hard fix had that happen to me right after I bought my 2000 vert. I paid exactly 360.00 for it to be done also so I guess I didn’t get over charged. Good luck with the repair car looks awesome.

That was the first thing I had to fix, did it myself. I jumped on it getting on the freeway by down shifting and was out out in the left lane when I realized it was not going into second.... nursed it to the very next exit and the rest of the way home. Not a fun day replacing the shift cable.
