I'd suggest an Interstate AGM and then a higher quality battery maintenance minder like "battery tender". Between those two you'll have 5+yrs no problems
Damnit, that's twice now I've posted that link, it works, and then it doesn't work.
What I'm trying to post:
1) Go to advance search
2) Type in "leaking battery"
3) Select "search titles only"
4) Select "C5 Corvettes, 1997-2004"
5) hit search
That will bring up A LOT of horror stories about lead acid batteries leaking in our C5s and the damage they can do.. Anyone who chooses to save a few bucks and not buy an AGM battery is playing Russian Roulette.
I have a Solar BA7 battery tester & I check my battery every spring, once it shows in the red/fail zone I replace my battery, my last Megatron lasted 7yrs & always on a tender.
Red tops never last beyond one year for me so I went yellow top. So far I have 4 years on it.
Not really had much luck with red tops either though I currently use two of them. I like yellow tops better as I get a lot better life out of them. They are better for my demanding stereo systems too.
Our C5s seem to draw a lot of amperage when not driven so no matter what battery you get, if your Corvette sits a week or two you better be using a battery tender to get max life out of the battery.
