Default Hood latches

Mine has done this since I got it - while standing on the drivers side I "slam the hood" and the latch nearest me does not catch (but the one on the pass side does). An easy fix?

Are we mostly "slammers" or "gentle pushers?"

Mine was doing the same thing. One side would latch and I would then walk around to the other side and gently push to latch. My mechanic noticed it and made some adjustments and now I can drop the hood from about 12" above closed and both sides latch. Hope this helps.

Mine does the same but only when I push the hood to close from the drivers side. Now I just close it from the passenger's side.

I like to gently push. (Don’t say that out loud)

You're doing it wrong. Doesn't matter which side you're on. Hold the hood IN THE CENTER and lower it till it's at the proper height, then let go and let it drop straight down DO NOT hold closer to one side or that side will be higher when you let go of the hood and it will start to twist and wobble as it falls, so one side will catch first and one side won't latch.

There's nothing wrong with the hood.

i def agree with this method to get both sides to slam at the same time. But I still don’t like slamming fiberglass. Nothing wrong with setting it down and clicking both sides softly.

This is what I do - I drop from about 12 inches while holding close to center, seems to work just fine.

adjust the stops that the hood sets on . mine was hard to close when I got it , turned the stops down a touch and works as it should . never have to slam it .

I just lower mine till it rests on the latch then push each side down gently to engage latch. Its not an old pickup truck.

That’s how I closed the hood in my C5s.
