Don’t have to worry about smog checks here, but if both things do require the same amount of time before you can get a good smog check, Not sure what your question really is.

a tune could be set up to make the readiness monitors show "ready" instantly after disconnecting and reconnecting the battery, if you have access to tuning software that might be easier than doing drive cycles if you are in a time crunch

My question was amount of time for either battery disc. or a tune--thx you answered it--about 100 miles should set moniters for ready?

Some of the readiness monitors require 40 drive cycles to reset. Start drive so many miles an stop and set about 10 minutes. Years ago these were posted on one of the other Corvette sites.
