Les missed ya at the track in macon yesterday, so how is the tranny holding up. Mine is now sticking in forth also, but 11.8 at 128.6mph was not to bad for street tires. :smash:
On the bottle??? Then, if the car is on the bottle, instead of editing his post perhaps adding the fact the car is on the bottle to his sig would be nice so we are not confused by the numbers posted.

I looked at his SIG and determined it was probably gas related.:)
I read his sig and it said nothing about his 2002 EB Z06 being on the bottle. I see under Past cars he had a 2002 QS Z06 that was on the bottle, but as his sig says. it was a past car and he was talking present tense about being at the track and posting that MPH. I guess if one was a little more specific in his post, you and I wouldn't be wondering which car, past or present, bottle or not, typing error or not etc. etc.

Well, I don't know if I got to the bottom of it RG, but at least we are keeping this at the top to see if Les is going to reply to Optics post. Maybe he is scared of the 128 MPH and is electing to stay away.
I just saw the post - I have been on the road. Optic does have funny gas on his 03 and in fact is about to supercharge the beast. He also runs on ET Streets and skinnies so my N/A bolt on car with stock tires running 118 MPH is no match for his current set up.
Optic: The tranny is still at the dealer, hope to get it back tomorrow, maybe get one more run in before winter, I'll let you know. Stay safe.

03? Geez, Optic, you really need to update your sig. Quit living in the past and start living in the present! You can start with your sig.
By the way, nice MPH!
Optic - Just went by the dealer, tranny done. 3-4 and 5-6 syncro's were toast. 3-4 no surprise since it stuck in 4th, 5-6 has never given me trouble and doesn't get used on hard runs so that is a mystery. Went by RP this morning, just missed you I guess. Can't wait to see tha blower ON the car :)
Racer44 - all I can say is :yesnod:

I don't know about you guys ripping up transmissions like this. Sounds like a common problem. Guess those light weight cars have light weight transmissions. :D Just kidding. It may have something to do with brutal shift technique.
Basically the Z06 and Viper have the same tranny. You have a larger input shaft and steel shift forks (our's are aluminum) - but the gears and syncro's are the same, made by the same company etc. Funny thing is my car broke the 5-6 syncro too, which is never used except for highway driving! I am more "brutal" on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift, why 3-4 and 5-6 went is a mystery. If it had been any of the others maybe, though I am told my car sounds like an automatic when I race, and the shock to the drive train seems minimal.
Maybe it is just plain wore out whupping Vipers :)

Not worked up at all, I know you were having some fun - I was thinking out loud as to why with basically the same parts the Z06 seems to be more prone to breaking the tranny, with less power and less weight - that is counter-intuative. The rest is all in good fun :)
Les :yesnod:
Les,
Don't get all worked up. I'm just messing with you.
Ok Racer44 you can look at the new signature I have stoped living in the past DAD. Yes to answer the nitrous question it was a 100 shot. Les call me ..
