Has any one found a back up and/or front wireless
camera preferred but wired will work too for use in the C5's without changing the stereo? That will be my last option but if I could find a stand alone system that would be great. Any help is appreciatwd.

I have a windshield mounted garmin that has support for two wireless cameras + it has a dash cam. (it's in my truck)
When I get around to outfitting my C5, I will replace the radio w/a larger screen and have wired cameras in both front and rear.
(the wireless in my truck works 95% of the time. But every once in a while it doesn't connect)
Just purchased an Auto Vox W2 system for future installation. Just two wires for the camera - gets wired to the reverse light. I did just a quick install with an external battery and was surprised how good the video quality is. Problem for me now is how to install the monitor. I don't want anything permanent. I'm thinking possibly a cup-holder style cell phone holder and adapt it for the camera monitor.
There are cameras that send video to your cell phone - so if you already have a mount for that it'll save you from having to mount a second dedicated screen..
I have the Thinkware 800 Pro installed front and back. You load the Thinkware software into your camera and you can monitor your car when it is in park mode, records all actions around your car.

I'd love to hear from anyone using a WiFi based backup camera. They use their own private WiFi network in your car. To work, your phone must join that network. My concern is that each time I wanted to use the backup camera, I'd need to make sure my phone is associated with that network. To me it seemed a bit clumsy, but I could be way off base. I'd be interested in the same concept except using Bluetooth rather than WIFI. Not sure there are many out there yet.

Yep. That's one of the problems with complete units. I don't want a big screen taking up space.
Would like some more hidden. I though about the area between the sun visors. Not sure there is a
monitor that small. But I am curious how that system worked. I have been looking at that one.
So there's sort of two ways to approach this setup - inexpensive and doesn't look as good, or $$ and looks custom.
If you aren't going to get a double DIN stereo and integrate into that, the method that would look best (to me) is to get one of those rear view mirrors with the built in screens which is entirely hidden when not in use. On the other end of the spectrum is something where you have to mount another screen, or have a cell phone as a screen and while it may work, it just looks pretty budget and to me. I personally like my interior uncluttered so I wouldn't do anything that looks tacked on.
Well what do I know - a quick search found this thing
I originally had one of those. But I'd like the camera on the outside in the front.
Really want the camera for front end protection when pulling into a space. The
cameras connected to the cell phone would be ok since I already have the phone
in a cup holder. When parked it would be gone and no wires so looks wouldn't be an
issue. Reading reviews seems these have connection/live feed issues. Might end up
going the DD way. But would like to see whats available.
I'd go for a replacement rear view mirror with small video display (for the backup camera) if one was available. I believer our OEM mirrors are made by Gentex. Unique to our existing mirrors is the orange console light, and 2 map (reading) lights. I've not been able to find a Gentex mirror with those same features and video screen for the backup camera.
If you look for and can find my thread on here from a few years ago, I installed front and rear cameras (rears were wireless) for about $45 for the whole setup, found from components on the auction site. It was easy to do and maybe took 2 hours total time. It worked flawlessly and I had no problems with it in the 3 or 4 years before I traded in the car.

I took used a wireless camera for a while with phone and tablet. But the BEST way to go is as MadMax96 says, double DIN and wired cameras, forget all the other stuff, been there done that.
