Hey guys, I'm thinking about adding side skirts to my 98 pewter. I was wondering if any one with a pewter corvette has installed these, and if so, can you post some pics of them so I can get an idea how they look. Also, how much depth does this add to the car? Thanks in advance!

I'm contemplating this mod as well, but I'm concerned that I, or my passenger, would kick or step on it inadvertently while entering and/or exiting the car. Is this fear unfounded?
The ground clearance issue is important, too, since our local roads aren't all that smooth!
I think they look good. I had the same worry about constantly hitting them when I installed them on my C7 but you get used to them quickly and getting in/out of the car without hitting them becomes second nature.
Put the skirts on last year. I love the look but ground clearance is very low.
Wow!! Slight hijack here, You’re the first pewter I’ve seen with similar striping as mine! Is your secondary color a grey? Mine are 3M black metallic and a metallic white.
Corvette Creations Pete is a good guy but
I had to send back 2 pairs until I could find
a set I liked. Anytime you start getting
aftermarket it is not OEM. You will be making
the part fit. I don't recmmend modding if you
you can't accept the fact that you will be drilling,
cutting and shapeing parts.
Hot rodding is not OEM..Good luck
The body curves under, it's actually pretty difficult to step on them getting in or out of the car. The only clearance problem I have is getting a jack underneath.
Corvette Creationz AC Edition. The fitment was good and they did not require much prep work. They also come in carbon fiber. I used to have the wing also. Fitment of that was just ok.
Workman, from one pewter owner to another, yours looks terrific. I’m usually not one for skirts and other ground effects, especially since I like to go in and out of my driveway. My targa roof is already wrapped in metallic black to match my hood stripes. I keep going back and forth about the halo, and yours is the first c5/pewter/silver with one that I’ve liked. Not sure which way I want to go with it, but I do get frustrated because no matter how clean/shiny/prepped it is for a show, it never gets the attention the bright colors get.

I know exactly what you mean about attention to loud colors. I typically don't do well in shows against red/yellow/orange etc..., but I like the pewter. All my cars are some sort of shade of grey. I have been going back and forth on painting the side skirts and the front lip black to carry the line back to the diffuser, but that has resolved itself as I am changing out the rear bumper. Here are a couple of picks to show you black top vs body color to give you more of an idea of the difference.
Thanks for posting those. This is not the right way to say this, but I’m ‘glad’ others with grey silver face the same problems I do. The most ‘colorful’ cars I’ve ever had was our brown ‘69 Malibu, wife’s RX350, and whichever white cars we’ve had.
I can see that your car is an ‘entire package’. I just did some photoshopping of mine and see that the dark halo is not enough. The fact that your ground effects are body color brings its all together. I would keep them that way. I also go back and forth on the side protector strips.
Here’s mine with the dark halo:

I think you'll like the dark halo after you do it. Lose the BMS's you won't be sorry, it completely smooths the look. Lastly, lower that thing!
PS: I ended up having to paint the doors after the BSM's were removed. There was no clear coat underneath. I don't know if that was specific to my car or not. Others have posted that they have removed the BSM's with only buffing needed.
