Hello all, A while back I decided to replace my stock cassette player radio in my 2002 C5 which had a couple damaged buttons and of course no BT. really wanted a 2DIN radio but I didn't want the extra expense, for the new console or a decent 2DIN radio. I found a compromise that seems to work well. I found a 1DIN radio that has a 2din screen tucked into it. SInce I got the economy version the screen is not motorized. It has to be pulled out and pushed in. As it turns out it works well. It cost all of $90.It has BT which I wanted, no CD but it uses micro sd or USB stick for music pictures or videos. I think it turned out well and wasn't too bad to install.

Glad your 90 dollar compromise worked out for you... Personally, I would have waited, saved the extra money to get a 2 din and not block the major AC vent. Not a fan of that flip up screen look.
I, too, don't want the added expense of the double din bezel. I was thinking of something along the lines of one of these - although most of them are no-name junk that I don't think I'd want in my car. If it blocks the vent at all, it would probably be minimal.
I know Alpine makes one, but it's pretty $$ and I think the screen is almost too large.
Yes it does block the center vent in the open position but it's very easy to retract out of the way allowing the vent to do it's job. I know its a cheap one but if it works out I can get a much better one to replace it. I'm not opposed to installing a 2DIN unit but not just yet. I may upgrade this C5 to a C6 fairly soon.
