All black cars show great when they
are taken care of. They can look like hell
if not washed, waxed and all swirls, chips
etc are not corrected.
Good luck
ELECTRON BLUE!
Okay, seriously I think they are both over priced which I would expect at a dealership. Talk them down the best you can, if the dealership doesn't budge, walk away.
IMO, you answered your own question "If I could pick which color C5 I'd like it would be black" therefore I recommend you go get the black one.
Why would you buy any color other than the one you want???
Wait for the right black/red one to come up, besides yellow can be a tough sell, someone has to love that color. So you clean it, big deal its a toy anyways. I wouldnt let anyone tell me who to marry, eat something I dont want etc.
There were tons of C5s made its not like youre passing up some collectible.
IMO, the c5z doesn't look great in black or yellow. That said, I would buy it in black, and then dip it satin white. Black jambs and engine bay and stuff looks less put of place than yellow or any other color would.
It really is what floats your boat. I like both colors but am personally partial to black. Black really suits the C5 body style. To my eyes black gives the C5 a really evil look as well as appearing even lower and wider. That being said black is a very difficult color to keep looking nice. Good luck with your choice.
I would get whatever color you like best. Might not be that car but you'll find one at some point. Buy a color you don't like and you'll never be satisfied with it.
I've owned both yellow and black....both are bitchin on C5... however, obviously dust gathering is the problem with black and insects the problem with yellow... Safety was the big difference with the black car... it being almost invisible in the rear view mirror of the less gifted drivers on the interstate thru out the country (particularly congested cities)..... Yellow the most visible color for safety.. However!...driving a yellow Corvette means you've lost the limited incognito ness of stealth... I loved the yellow car but everyone in the small town I lived in knew where I was.... "I saw your yellow car late last night parked at Dora's place".....Even my barber knew and mentioned where my car was parked all night for heaven's sake!.... That sorta pissed me off.
