I think this depends upon your driving preferences, frequency of use, road conditions and wallet. My ‘000 has some mars and chips but I follow advice given on the forum; drive and enjoy your vette. I detail it often and it looks impressive. That noted, XPEL “clear bra” or ceramic coating were also recommended for paint protection. Here’s the weblink, others will have insight on the product.

If you want very good protection, spend the money on something like Xpel film - it does a very good job on keeping the chips off the paint.
