Just finished trying to clean the tips on the modded Ti mufflers I bought from a forum member but the results are less than satisfying - they still have this nasty-looking carbon buildup on the insides. At the risk of being laughed off the forum - are there any kind of inserts that will slip inside and give them a nicer appearance?
I would try a bottle brush (one where the core is twisted wire but with regular bristles, not wire bristles) on an electric drill with Fast Orange. Park on an incline and use a spray bottle to rinse it out.

The product "never dull" seems to be what a lot of people online use. I've linked to it on Amazon as well as pasted a link to a bmw m3 forum in which this topic is talked about (has some after pics).
Try some liquid Bar Keepers Friend and a rag or bottle brush. I have been cleaning the inside and outside of my tips with this for some time and have been really pleased with the results.
There is this Weber grill cleaner in a spray bottle that I use. Spray on, let sit a couple of minutes and power wash off. Seems to work for me and no need to brush.
