This might help you out I think. It's called a car door cane. Good luck with your recovery and you get back to as normal as you can.

Good luck, bro. Prayers for you.
I put my left hand on the door sill and push up and out.

On the door jamb just below the latch there is a little shelf. Place your hand there and hoist yourself up.

Broke my back in a motorcycle accident back in 2015. Vertebrates T2 through T10. Fortunate I can still walk. Long story short, seat in and down, legs in. Reverse on exiting. Time practice and determination. Many good suggestions here. All the best to you!

I have a very difficult left knee and this device makes it easier entering and exiting my '04 vert.

I have suffered back injuries in the past and it does make entry/exit a bit of a challenge. I have used most of the methods described by posters above. Finally settled on the following. Entry: Place right hand on the side of the seat back at the hump, right leg in, lower into the seat at an angle facing out, half your butt on the seat and then slide across the seat all the way in then left leg in. Exit: Swivel in seat, left leg out, left hand on hump by door latch, swivel to your left, right leg out, use left hand/arm to help power yourself out of the car and into standing. Works for me but one of the above methods or some variation should be of some help. Hope you can work it out. Best wishes to you!

I have 8 screws and rods in my lower back - -getting in is the easy part- right . . .? I use the same method as above, but getting out flare my elbows against the A and B pillars to help raise out of the car or in a roadster, push left hand off the seat back.

My wife has had her spine and neck fused. While she can no longer drive a standard transmission car this device has been a big help for her.

A lot of good suggestions above, but, hate to hear about your back issues. Prayers for a full recovery and hope you find the perfect way to enter/exit your car. You definitely deserve some "Corvette Therapy"!!

By the way....this is definitely not a stupid question. Your question and the answers provided will probably benefit many of our forum brothers and sisters either now or in later years!

Interesting device. Don't think I have seen that one before.

Don't grab the seat to get out, that is the cause of all the broken seams you see. My car is lowered pretty drastically. I just figure when I can't get out anymore the for sale sign goes on.
