I am.working on my car and my front outer tie rods needs to be replaced. I was wondering what you recommend l. Just go with OEM or is there any aftermarket that is better quality. It's a daily driver
Thanks for the input, the garage is charging me for the front outer tie rods $71 each, I think they are getting them from the dealership. I am looking online just a quick search for Moog and I can definitely get something for half the price. Am I missing something?. Does anyone know the Moog part number or the part number. I feel I can get them cheaper and save me some $$
Moog part #ES2231RL. I looked it up on Rock Auto and got a price of $94.76 for both sides. That includes shipping to my address and a 5% discount. Hope this helps .

No problem always willing to help. Based on the price the garage the quoted you they are probably an off brand. I checked Advance auto parts and the Moogs are $99 and O'reillys are $110 each .

Amazon have them for 45$ each (Moog ES2231RL Tie Rod End) with free shipping, of course i have to pay taxes (6%) but still much cheaper what the garage quoted me
No i am trying to find the rack and pinion as they quoted me $453 which i am sure that is a rebuild at least from the price
I went Moog on the fronts from Rock Auto. Rears aren't available in Moog for some reason. I replaced 1 with stock, then I found out Ecklers sells an upgraded greasable unit, so I ordered that to do the other that's still tight, but has a torn boot.

$453 is actually not that bad a price for a rebuilt rack, and any rack you find is going to be rebuilt (unless you get unreal lucky and find a NOS unit) since GM no longer offers the rack. Or you could maybe get one cheaper from a junkyard supplier, in which case what you get might not be any better than what you have.
